Support for the Students on Hunger Strike

Venezuelan students have been on hunger strike in Venezuela for twenty days already in front of the Organization of American States office in Caracas. Hugo Chavez is insulting the courageous students through his infamous top diplomat.

Please keep in mind that Chavez pays individuals and groups for support. Students protesting in Washington, D.C. recently were harassed by a group from El Salvador as previously reported in my blog:

At this time, the students protesting are requesting supplies like pillows, canopies or tents.

There are reports that Hugo Chavez allegedly pays for disinformation concerning Venezuelan opposition.

Dear Journalists,

While Hosni Mubarak was a dictator and his administration got involved in similar abuses that the Chavez’s administration has reported been doing against Venezuelan citizens it seems that Hosni Mubarak is not mentally ill. Hugo Chavez shall be next to be removed from power by citizens as he continues with his autocracy and abuse of power.

Reading the responses from Hugo Chavez to the press about the similarities between Mubarak and himself it could be that Chavez is not aware of the moral and financial damage he has made Venezuelan citizens suffer. Ask any one in Venezuela if they are better financially, and in quality of life today than before Chavez. Most of the people I know are struggling financially, and are living in a violent society where citizens are afraid of going out to run errands. Many are suffering traumatic stress after the constant Chavez’s media abuse.

Expropriations:

Hugo Chavez has done a lot of harm to Venezuelan citizens, and the lack of recognition on his part may be because it has become unnoticeable to him since in the last twelve years Chavez’s quality of life and of his loved ones seems to have improved financially while the regular citizens’ has declined.

Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat wrote about the international responsibility to defend human rights, and how Hugo Chavez is actively blocking foreign funding for NGOs as previously reported by the Associated Press.

Venezuelans need the aid from world leaders, and the International Court of Justice, to resolve abuse of power in Venezuela and restore democracy.
